FIRST WEEK IN PERU!

Oh my gosh where do I even begin with yall. Might be a long email so buckle up especially you Tyson. First day was good we slept at the office elders place and it was pretty fun, I got a good run down of the mission and I love all the elders so far. Next day we met with the President and figured out our areas and companions, it was so dope he would announce it in front of everyone and all the missionaries start cheering loudly it was cool. My area is called Villa Maria and my comp is Elder Beltran, he is from mexico and knows maybe 5 percent of English, he loves when I teach him slang from America so ive taught him chopped, gas, tweaker, goated, dope, other ones like that and he loves it. For those who havent seen my Google photos my area is very poor and sketch. I guess 3/4 last elders that were new and went home were in my area so that's cool 😁. But yah its very poor and I am either walking uphill or downhill and it is wild, it gets tiring towards the end of the day but its chill. There is also mototaxis and dogs EVERYWHERE. For those who dont know mototaxis are these tiny 3 wheeled taxis with maybe 10 horsepower, like they barely make it uphill, but everyone uses them. And like dogs, people here in Peru poop (which is rarer) and pee in the streets whenever they please 🤙. And in my mission you can't eat food at people's houses because its too poor, but we have this angel called a pensionista, who is a lady in the ward who makes us lunch everyday and washes our clothes, and her food is gas so its worth paying her every other week. But other than that we are on our own for breakfast and dinner everyday. But in another area called Chinca you can eat at members houses and a very popular dish there is cat so thats just awesome. Whenever someone got called to serve in the Chinca area every elder and the hermanas would make cat noises and it was hilarious. My new district is dope they are all latino and hardly know English so im learning very fast and they think ill be fluent in a month, so we will see how that goes. Also working out and firm handshakes arent a thing here so whenever I shake someone's hand they will call ne Elder Fuerte and start laughing, my second nickname is Hermanito because whenever I introduce myself I tell them im 18 and they go "oooo hermanito" and they love it. Its very cool here im loving it so far and all though its very poor and sketchy at night the people are cool, and we have taught some POWERFUL lessons and we should be putting around 4 people on date these coming weeks so stay tuned for that. Everyone says the first week is hard but ive been loving it and although im super tired a lot from the hills, its been cool to meet all of the people and start preaching the good word. Ive been living off of Inca Cola to power me through the days, its Perus liquid gold, its so good and all of the elders drink it so much. For the first p day we played soccer with the district and it was very fun and we walked around and got some food. Still loving learning spanish and I slip up sometimes by speaking English on accident but I fix it right away when the investigators look at me weird 😹. Its been a ride this past week and im sure that wont change.

Spiritual Thought: Going back go what I was saying with the first week not being too difficult, I just know it wasnt too bad because I have a firm knowledge that Heavenly Father and Jesus are watching over me and the Holy Ghost is with me. With me surrounding myself with things that bring the spirit I never feel too scared or too nervous about anything because I know they got my back and have a plan for me, because Ive read it, prayed, and heard it so much. And thats the lesson this mission has taught me is to never doubt God's will and let him take control, so I encourage everyone reading to do that, give yourself up and to God and let him help you with his plan.
