WEEK 1 IN CANETE!

If you dont read anything, just read the spiritual thought please

Whats up everyone how's it going? I hope all is well and that you have had the opportunity to see the Lords hand in your lives this past week. My first week here in Cañete was absolutely amazing and me and my comp got a ton of work done and had a very successful week which was amazing. I love my comp a lot, hes an absolute stud. This week we had the opportunity to put 3 baptismal dates and bring 10 recent converts to church which was amazing. The zone is really dope and I love all of these elders a lot and cant wait to build a relationship with all of them in this transfer. This pday we played soccer and got food and my comp got faded up 😮‍💨. My comp is also jamaican, peruvian, and African american and lives in Hawaii right now which is lowkey fire. And now we are traveling to Lima for a meeting with all of the zone leaders in the mission now which is pretty dope. I finally get to see my boys Seminario, Lagon, Carrillo, and Mickelsen which is gonna be so dope. But yah lemme end yall off with a spiritual thought

Spiritual Thought: These two verses are found in Isaiah 41 (verses 10 and 13)

10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.13 For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

13 For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

I first found these two verses when someone very close to me got cancer and I was praying on what I can do to find peace and I somehow found these scriptures (no doubt the hand of God) and I just wanted to share with you guys because these have helped me a lot. God truly doesnt care how far away we are gone like if we going a little inactive, are constantly sinning, or anything like that. Jesus died for our sins for this exact reason. He knew we would fall, He knew we would he tempted, He knew we would have sins. Thats the entire point of the atonement of Jesus Christ all we need to do is pray, read the scriptures, repent and take the sacrament. And sometimes it seems like a lot but then we need to remember that Jesus took upon the sins of the entire world for YOU. So that we can open and use this gift. So when you are reading this message, know I felt inspired through the Holy Ghost to share this scripture and this thought for YOU and that this spiritual thought was designed and inspired to help you. So please act on this impression and know that God and Jesus are always at the door waiting for you. You just gotta open them.

I love you guys so much and so do God and Jesus, thats why God sent his only son to atone for your sins and for your trials 🫶

I hope yall have an amazing week and that you can act on this spiritual prompting that God is giving you

ANOTHER BAPTISMAL DATE!

Well after getting robbed and having that awesome family home evening we had another lesson with the member and her kid and we put a baptismal date for the 31st of May!!! God is great and listens and helps his missionaries. This work is amazing. I gave him a little Jesus and he was super appreciative and hugged me after 🥹. Also they have a pretty nice Peruvian house (I just felt like adding that, the well kept house are always a nice surprise)

WE GOT ROBBED PART 2!

Well as you all know we got robbed yesterday, but one thing as you all know also (like the title says) i always love and appreciate having good relationships with everyone i know. And today we were meeting with a member and she gave us 50 soles to pay for our stolen money 🥹. And then right after another member calls us and gives us 50 more soles (the inactive membet who has the kid that wants to be baptized as well) 🥹

So my point here is just make and keep relationships with everyone because it will end up helping you out so much in the long run, especially as a missionary as well, because if the members can trust you they will help you a lot (like references for friends that you can teach)

Love you all have a good day!

WE GOT ROBBED!

I just wanna keep this email to just one story that happened today so here it is:

So we took a moto and i only had a 50 sole bill and I asked the guy to break it and so he like half stepped out of his moto and as we were walking into the store he gets back into his moto and drives away. So instead of paying 6 soles I ended up getting 50 robbed from me. But God made it worth it because we just had a grand miracle that made me feel the spirit a ton and made me tear up also during our lesson. We just had a family home evening with the bishop, inactive members, and a baptismal date and one of the inactive members we have been working with to reactivate was there and has attended church the last 2 weeks. And the bishop talked about Lucas 8 (the parabole with the seeds that fall into different places and how the good earth brings fruit which blesses others) and we talked a lot about patience (which was perfect for us after what just happened) and the inactive member has a kid and she said my kid told me after going to church that God responded to her question about baptism and she wants to be baptized now and now we are gonna be working with her kid to help her get baptized. So tonight was a huge testimony for me about patience and just maintaining faith because now we found someone who really wants to be baptized and it was a huge miracle for us. And it made me realize that God really does look out for his children especially the missionaries, yah it sucks we got robbed but losing my life in the service of others has really strengthened my testimony as a missionary and just being here in Peru has been so worth it. And especially today, we got robbed, kept our heads up and find a person who wants to make their first covenant with God. It makes me tear up while writing this because I know God is working through me and me maintaining my faith and love for the people of Peru has brought me so many blessings.

So I just wanna challenge you guys yo read Lucas 8: 4-15 and to just maintain your faith in him because God can do miraculous things through his children and he wants to as well. We just have to be faithful and endure to the end. I love you all and hope yall have a good week

Also quick little shoutout to my cute little niece Della saying her first word!!! You da goat and I cant wait to meet you in a little over a year 🫶
