TRANSFERS!

 Writing the email on time babyyyyy (this is for you Elder Baker )

Transfers came last week and I am now in a place called Pisco!!! Its on the coast and its a big fishing town and its super dope. Ive been very lowkey to see all different things in my mission from city to mountains to fields to now the coast . And my comp is an absolute studdddd lemme give yall some facts on him

- His name is Elder Ludlow

- From Lehi, Utah

- 20 years old

- Has 21 months out here

- Loves everything outdoors

- He was actually the 3rd elder I ever met in the mission and now we are comps together which is insane

I absolutely loved Cañete and everything it did for me. I met people that changed my life and I will never forget them. And ill give them some shoutouts

- Francisco: Wanted to get baptized and is still active even though his wife left him with his autistic son, has a half built house with dirt floors, got his phone stolen, his moto robbed, lives 40 mins (with his moto, so now its longer), has to work 2 jobs to pay for his son and was in the hospital for over a week. Francisco is the definition of what a true disciple is and what real conversion looks like

- Walter and Haydee: A husband and wife who were jehovas witnesses and only loved listening to the missionaries but then the wife got baptized first and a month later after stating that baptism is not for him, her husband Walter got baptized!! And after that Walter pulled me aside on my last sunday and started tearing up and thanking me for everything and that i changed his life and that he will NEVER leave this church (it even had me teary eyed) and it was the sweetest thing because he always has a serious face on, but he is just a big teddy bear on the inside . And they want to get sealed in the temple in 1 year and holy im excited for them. I wont be in the mission when that happens but I will do everything in my power to be there

- Karla: After 5 weeks in teaching she had spiritual experiences and knew right off the bat that this is the true church and ACTED on her impressions and her husband will soon be following her example in a month or 2

- Akemy: After 1 year in teaching she followed the example of her active sister and got baptized with Karla!! She is amazing and finally acted on the spiritual experiences she has had

- Shantall: Little Shantall is just the goat and is setting a great example for her mom

Cañete has a special place in my heart and changed my course as a person and has grown my personal conversion to this gospel. Thank you Cañete for everything

I wanted to give a tie to Walter, but I didn't see him at the farewell party so my comp delivered it for me. Francisco couldn't afford a white shirt so I bought him one and he wore it to church the next Sunday so my old comp sent me a picture of it. My zone. A service project. I texted a picture in Canete to momma mimi and she reposted it on her instagram stories and that's where my mom stole this picture. 

ONE OF THE WAYS I HEAR HIM!

Sorry ive been emailing a lottt but I watched this video and felt inspired to share it with you because its super true and 100 percent applies to me. Theres this section in the Gospel Library app called "How I Hear Him" and this video is President Eyring sharing how he hears the Savior. Its only 1 min and 45 secs long and after watching it I realize that I am the same exact way. I know I give you guys crap for being easier on the twins but I just realized that maybe I needed it more and I probably would've been more disobedient and irresponsible than the twins. So I just want to thank you for the constant guidance youve given me in my life because I know you are close with God and the Heavens and truly know whats best for your kids because of your faithfulness in the Gospel and the example you set. So thank you momma for always helping me and never stop even though I might get annoyed at times

DELLAS BIRTHDAY!! AND MISSION CALL!!

 Good morning fam, just two quick things I wanted to put on here.

1) Just wanted to wish a happy first birthday to my little Della doo!!! Hope you guys have a great day with her, take plenty of pics and videos. Especially with her trying soda, watching TV and stuff like that

2) I just read my mission call again (like the paper everyone gets and see where they are assigned) and it is POWERFUL!! There are some super cool prophetic promises on the mission call but my favorite one is the last paragraph where it says "Our Heavenly Father will reward you for the goodness of your life. Greater blessings and more joy than you have yet experienced await you as you humbly and prayerfully serve the Lord in this labor of love among His children." You catch that? Anyone who serves a mission will receive more joy and blessings than they have ever experienced in their lives before serving a mission. Isnt that an insane promise? But its sooo true the mission has been absolutely amazing and I have felt an indescribable amount of joy while serving the Lord, 100 percent more joy than I have ever felt in my life. Thats the power of the mission, and twins you guys will have the same exact opportunity to see that prophetic promise soon enough

Made it to my house in Pisco safely and im super excited to get working here and see what miracles me and my comp (Elder Ludlow) can cook up. Love you guys, we will talk sunday!! Happy early birthday to my little Della doo

LAST NIGHT IN CANETE!

Tonight was amazing!!!! We had a good party and ate some more tacos and played games. And everyone got up and shared their experiences with me and what they loved (I got a little uncomfortable because it was kinda awkward but it was nice of them). Francisco also came right as I was leaving and it surprised me and I got sooo happy and I gave him the shirt and he loved it! The whole ward been sending messages too it been really really nice of them. They are good people. They have been thanking for me what Ive done in the ward and and ward council. And as I was walking home a recent convert called (she's the sister of the girl we baptized yesterday) and she said she had a gift and a made me a wallet and a knitted rose. I love Canete and all of the people ive met here! Love Francisco and his smile. He's been through everything and he's still standing firm in the gospel. I have no excuse to not attend church after the mission because of him.

Families can be together forever!!

Walter and Haydee came to the baptism and when they were leaving Walter pulled me side, hugged me and said thanks to you im here and I will never leave. And he started tearing up. The spirit was so strong when he said those strong and simple words. The people ive met in Cañete have changed my life

Haydee added me on facebook and in one year she is gonna send me a message when they get sealed to each other. And I want to be there!

THE MISSIONARY WORK INCREASING!

 This work is increasing by the day and more and more people are receiving the gospel!! The church reached over 90,000 missionaries and Elder Stevenson of the Quorum of the 12 met with the President of Peru on August 27th (yes she is a japanese lady). Also we did a service project today and the lady that organized it said that it will most likely hit church news because we helped a hospital today!! Great day today

Mosiah 2:17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.

This is a great work and I appreciate it more and more every day

I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE!

Just took an amazing temple trip with our converts Haydee (who got baptized on the white night, July 25th) and her husband Walter (who got baptized sunday night) and the SECOND we stepped on the temple ground the biggest smile hit their faces and they loved it so much. We had to leave early so we could get back to the area but Haydee has her recommend and even printer out the name of her dad who passed away and a member will be baptized for him!!! Walter got baptized sunday night and couldn't get sustained by the ward in time for his recommend so we stayed outside and talked to him and even some friends in teaching came!! Today was an amazing day and i loved seeing their faces when they saw the temple, sometimes I feel like we take for granted the 20 min drive to the only place on Earth that feels like heaven (except for moms cooking ) and the true power the temple has. Today was a super edifying day for me and im so grateful for all of the blessings in the mission. Haydee and Walter even want to get sealed in a year and if its confirmed then thats the date we visit Peru again because I want to be there on that special day and see them get sealed for all of eternity. I know this gospel is true and the power of the temples is REAL. The amount of peace and love I felt today was unreal even though I didn't even enter into the temple. The plan was to go in and pray about classes and college but the second I walked in I felt super strongly a voice say "stay out there and be with the others" so we stayed and im so happy i did that, because looking back i was only thinking about myself in the trip but it was really about Haydee and Walter and their experience today. This is the church of Jesus Christ and families truly can be together forever thanks to the binding powers of the temples. I love you family and im starting to really appreciate the example mom and dad set by being sealed in the temple and giving us kids the opportunity to live together forever . Super great day here in Peru. Im forever grateful for this 2 year service im giving to the Lord. The mission is life changing!!

Huge bonus: I somehow saw Elder Lagon and Robinson today!!!! Elder Lagon was my first district leader in the mission (hes the model that was born and lives in the Philippines and speaks 5 languages) and he finishes his mission in a week and a half. And Elder Robinson lived in my house in Ayacucho for a transfer and was Braxtens MTC comp. They are comps right now and it was super cool seeing them and saying bye to Lagon for now (he wants to move to Utah)
